Meet Our Coach: Deborah Hong

Deborah Hong is a worship leader, songwriter, and native of Charleston, South Carolina. She began leading worship and writing songs at the age of 12 and has spent her life serving the local church through music and ministry. Deborah is married to James Hong and is a proud mother of three boys.Deborah currently leads North Palm Worship, a worship label and movement rooted in the life of the local church.

Under her leadership, the team is committed to cultivating a healthy songwriting community, raising up worship leaders and writers, and releasing original worship music that is both theologically rich and accessible for the congregation.

She carries a clear vision to see worship leaders prioritize God’s presence over performance, choosing obedience and intimacy with the Lord above popularity and influence. Her heart is to see a generation of worshipers who minister to the Lord first—leaders who live from the secret place and faithfully pursue His desires over their own.
